Erin & I can agree on the first time we met. After that it all depends on who you talk to as to the exact details.
Here’s what we can agree on. In the fall of 2001 (Sept. 29th to be exact) we both were fashionably late for a Tennessee Conference UMC youth event design team meeting. We just so happened to pull into parking spots right next to us. As a side note: Erin has on her car University of South Carolina stickers and I have University of Alabama stickers on my car. If you do your history research you will find out that on Sept 29th, 2001 USC was playing UA in football. It does not take too much imagination to dream that we both got out of our car and before introducing our selves or saying “hi” we started talking crap. From what I have been told in years since, I had her speechless which is apparently quite a feat.
We went through the meeting having noticed each other. Erin was smitten with me, she called her friends and I think her mom talking all about me. However, my shyness was misinterpreted in later months and she thought I was an ass. Interest wained after that.
We continued to catch up with each other at youth events. Erin realized that I am super cool and pursued me aggressively. Okay, might have taken some creative license with that last sentence.
It wasn’t until February 15th, 2003 that we went on our first date. She will laugh and tell you about me calling to ask her out. I say that I was pretty cool and collected when I did that. We had a great first date and have not looked back since.
Erin started working for the family business, All American Pest Control, full-time in November of 2004. I finally found a great church to be in ministry with, HFUMC, in July of 2005.
On December 10th, 2005 I had plotted Operation Marriage Proposal. After OMP was a huge success we were married on Sept. 23rd, 2006.
This site is a new extension of our life together as we do all the things that other couples do, and some things others might not, we hope you enjoy!
