Brooks first Christmas Performance

Brooks rang a bell for the children’s Christmas music service this year at church. It was a lot of fun for him. He loved his red bell and knew he had to wait to ring it. Not a small feat for a two year old.

We were/are quite proud of our little man.

Ice Ice Baby

We had some investment friends give us some tickets to ICE at Opry Mills this week. All we had to do was watch a short sales video. ICE is cool, literally & figuratively. Brooks walking around was our highlight and especially the full size parka he had to wear.

Family Reunion 2011 & Young Reception

We have had a whirlwind of a weekend going down the grandpa’s farm for the Richardson family reunion. We got down for the fish fry which was held a few hours earlier due to some important football game, the result of which we will not discuss here. Good times hanging with the family. Skipped the actual reunion part to make it to our friend Davey’s Alabama wedding reception. It was good to meet his wife Lindsey again (met her a few years back when they were dating while we were both in Dallas). She looked great and and Davey looked much like Davey should. The kiddos had a blast playing together. A few photos:

Jackson Orchard

Today we spent the day at Jackson Orchard with a few close friends & their children, who happen to be close friends with Brooks. We had a great time playing on their playground area, petting & feeding various animals (Brooks liked the baby pigs), picking a pumpkin, slurping down some apple cider slushy (dad went for seconds), running from a rain storm, chasing down quick children, and having an overall good time.

Day at the Aquarium

We spent the day with some of our friends who have kids the same age as Brooks (they’d be our friends regardless of, it is just easier) on a road trip to the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga. We saw lots of cool fish, pet some stingrays, searched for some butterflies and more. We then played outside & walked across the pedestrian bridge to Coolidge Park to rid the Carousel & play in the grass some more. A little dinner after the walk back & some dancing to the music on the river and we were headed home… Exhausted..

We were down in Hoover this week as Courtney is in the hospital & we are all rallying. Nick had a baseball game so we all headed over to cheer him on and then goof-off ourselves. Brooks loves to play with his cousins if you can’t tell.

Brooks & the Jumpy Seat : February Milestones

These last few weeks we’ve had a couple of milestones of epic proportion in the Richardson household. Yes, Noah was born which we are all very grateful for. Brooks got to meet his new partner in crime a few days after birth when he returned from a networking business trip to Savannah, GA.

Brooks has started eating solid foods. We actually did this over at Shawn & Tiff’s house.. not sure why their house, guess if it got nasty.. anyways. Brooks has also started what seems to be his new love for the Jumping Seat. Honestly, I’d be pretty stoked if they made an adult version of that chair. Its hard to think someone wouldn’t like it.

Noah Christian’s Birthday

Today is Noah Christian Richardson’s birthday. Tiffany was a real champ as she delivered Noah who weighed in at a whopping 9lbs. 11oz. All are well and we were excited that Shawn was able to work out through his whole deployment stuff to be around for the birthday and as long as he was.

indiana jones & the temple of the komodo dragon

one of our new year resolutions is to do less tv. as we looked at ourselves we became more and more a part of our couches & spending way too much time watching television on an account of tiredness or some other excuse. so, with this new year we are turning off the tv for three days of the week. our chosen days are sunday, monday, & wednesday. we are not allowed to alternate the television for more computer time or tv program on the computer, but we can use the tv if we are making use of our wii-fit.

i however am making a bit of an exception today. i watched my buddy dixon & kids feature presentation of “indiana jones & the temple of the komodo dragon.” they started this project some time back & posting a bunch of teasers. its one of the coolest family projects i’ve ever seen… even if i’m not supposed to be watching tv today.

Our Boys Christmas Present

We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!! Ours was quite good with the little man in tow. Went down to “Nana & Grandpa’s” house in Birmingham where we spent a few days and Christmas morning, then back home to meet up with some of the Foster Clan (which is always a raucous time).

Christmas morning was highlighted with Brooks showing off his newest skill of rolling over. Yes, we celebrate these small milestones. This was his first successful unassisted rolling over since he was 2 weeks old when he did it for the doctor (we call that a lucky first attempt). This time he did it for Grandpa, so apparently he likes to show off for others, but not so much for us.

Anyways, its a cute video with my dad playing around with Brooks, a few farts, laughable moments, & our celebratory developmental milestone of rolling over.
