Day 10: “Look mom, one less tube!”. The doctors had their big rounds this morning so we had to wait a bit to see little man. Much to our surprise he is now off his oxygen flow & was doing just fine. He also gained another 30 grams so he can claim a whopping 2lbs 10oz. He is also off the photo therapy lights, no sunglasses bro, but we expected that one. Lil man is chilling outside his incubator with mom for a bit. Then he gets a visit from his grammies who is celebrating 60 years today. Yay Whit! Sad to report. After yesterday’s update we watched a mother and family come in to say their last good byes to their little girl. Not sure what was exactly wrong. Best we could tell was she was so tiny tiny that her body wasn’t developed enough to gain weight. As great as our newborn medicine field is these days it is a sad reality that not everyone gets to go home with their newborns. Prayers for Baby “L” and her family. I can’t imagine.
