Day 30: Whit continued to put on the weight gainz today. He’s tipping the scale at 3lbs 13oz. The anticipated milestone is he might possibly make it into a regular crib by end of day or tomorrow. What a big boy! We have also recently learned about a heart murmur and that he’s anemic. The doctor is not too concerned about either issue right now. We, of course, would appreciate specific prayers that the murmur would close (and that it is not a sign of something bigger) and that his next blood test on Monday shows improvement and no need for a blood transfusion! Your prayers mean the world to us and sweet baby Whit.

Day 29: Bit of a frantic morning at the house. Erin & I were feeling a tad overwhelmed with the crazy state of our house. Called the hospital to check in and found out that Whit had gained 2.25 oz. to now weigh in at 3lbs 11.75oz. Wow! This further charged our crazy so we spent the morning cleaning & moving furniture. All hands on deck. Hanging out with lil man now. He is chilling with mom. Signed up for a discharge class, what! Going home feels close. Still likely two weeks away, but crazy to know if he keeps projecting nicely we will be home super soon. Much love to everyone who has been praying good health into Whit and sanity for his parental units. It works, we believe it. #NICU #nicubaby #preemie #boyslife #TeamWhit

Day 28: We made our way down to the hospital this morning without incident. Very thankful for that. Way grateful for Saint Teresa who is having our boys over to play for much of the day with her boys- they were beyond thrilled. Excited to find out that lil man continues his quest to become bigger man. He gained another full ounce to weigh in at 3 lbs 9.5 oz (1636 grams). Even better is he has only had one recorded self-resolved episode. 👍 Nana & Grandpa got to hang with lil man for a short while before heading back to Alabama for a friends funeral. So a lot of family time this morning. Whit is now sacked out big time with mom- being pretty much awesome. If he keeps packing on the ounces like this and develops his ‘suck, swallow, breathe’ technique sufficiently we may be heading home in as little as a week & half. (Likely 2-3 weeks) Hard to think he’s one month old on Thursday. Thanks again to all those that reached out offering to drive us & feed us road info during the snowpocalypse. Y’all are beyond gracious. It’s wonderful being with our little guy now & it was wonderful having epic snow fun with his older brothers. #NICU #nicubaby #nashvillesnow #boyslife
