Day 26: #snowday number 2, we were set on getting to see our little man this morning but still unsure of the roads. Report from his attending nurse said that he gained a whopping 2.5oz in the last 24 hours. We think that’s his little gift to us as it let us feel better about his condition. We opted to not test the roads and instead make a few memories with the very rare #nashvillesnow. With some snowmen building and snowball fights with friends feel like we accomplished that. Definitely off to the hospital early in the morning tomorrow to catch up with our lil man. #boyslife

Day 24: Whit had a rocky overnight with eight or so self-resolved episodes however today he’s been largely chilled out & doing just fine. With the snow day we had to audible on our normal visit plans so I’ve been hanging with Whit since lunch time. Mom has been home playing with the eldest sons. They were beyond excited for that. Whit gained a few ounces to measure in at 3lbs 4oz today. Once he gets to 1500 grams (3lbs 5oz) we have to start checking off various boxes of training classes before we can take him home. Home is still probably a month out but it could be sooner. Must get on the road before night sets in and roads get iced over. Thank you all for the notes, prayers and help along the way. If it takes a village Whit has one of the largest villages assembled. ❤️ #NICU #nicubaby #preemie #boyslife #snowday

Day 23! Deserves an exclamation mark! His tape mustache was removed for a moment and Mom & Dad got to see Whit’s face for the first time since a quick glance after his birth. And, for even more miraculous news… at lunch time since he was completely alert and pulled out his feeding tube (and because he’s been sucking his pacifier so well), the nurses decided to try him on the bottle! He did great and took 7cc! This is a really big deal because he’s only 32wk 1 d! We are very proud of the little man. This is another step in the right direction towards taking him home. Praise God and thank you all for your daily prayers!!! #nicubaby #NICU #preemie #boyslife
